Our Scotch Eggs

Our scotch eggs are made by hand on our small farm, using pork from our free range, rare breed pigs and eggs from our very free ranging hens. We season them with freshly ground spices and our homegrown herbs. We then coat them in our own breadcrumbs before cooking them to perfection!

We are fortunate to be based in the Cotswolds, surrounded by amazing farmers and people as passionate as we are about their produce. We aim to source those ingredients we can’t grow from high quality, local producers and farmers. Well over 95% of the ingredients needed for our classic scotch egg are from within 15 miles of us. Due to the nature of the recipes, some of our other scotch egg flavours need ingredients we can’t currently produce but we are working hard to source more locally.

We are very proud of our classic recipe but even we fancy something a bit different at times. We produce a changing range of other flavours including such favourites as chorizo, smoky bacon and black pudding. We also hope to introduce a range of vegetarian eggs soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media for news of what’s coming up and to have you chance to help choose a future flavour.

All our packaging is compostable and we use no single use plastics, except for that required for food safety reasons, such as gloves and aprons.

Storage Advice

The scotch eggs are at their very best on the day of purchase. They should be stored in the fridge, preferably in the original packaging, in a paper bag or something else breathable. They have a shelf life of 5 days (if you can resist them that long!), but the wonderful crunch of the fresh scotch egg gradually disappears over time. We do not recommend freezing them.

Allergen Advice

We have yet to work out how to produce an egg-free scotch egg. Most of our eggs also contain wheat, milk and mustard. Please ask for further advice or see the ingredient listing with allergens marked in bold.
